JOY IN COLOR
Embassy of Argentina -Washington, D.C
December to February 2019
From December to February my solo exhibition called “Joy in Colors” was displayed at the Embassy of Argentina, a beautiful mansion in Dupont Circle.I loved the contrast between the rich traditional architecture and the colorful, contemporary art. During the opening night, an unannounced tango show added even more color to the already fun night.
Working with Alfredo Ratinoff, the curator at the Embassy, was a total joy. This is an excerpt from his curatorial statement says:
“Arata’s paintings are a vehicle for exploring aesthetic, psychological, emotional, and spiritual realms, each journey a discovery of the transformational nature of art from the subjective elements whose energies touch and transform the viewer and allow for the understanding of the power of art through this language of shapes, colors and spaces. Her insightful, experimental, and creative approach to creating art that moves in such novel directions exemplifies the immortal words of Carl Jung in his Red Book: “If you go to thinking, take your heart with you. If you go to love, take your head with you. Love is empty without thinking, thinking hollow without love”.
